Adam Wylegala

Adam Wylęgała M.D. D.M.S. FEBO was born in Upper Silesia, Poland. He received his M.D. from Wroclaw Medical University and E.K. University Tubingen. His research on the blood-brain barrier at the University of Kentucky earned him a Dr.Med.Scie. from Silesian Medical University.  A year later, he began his ophthalmology training. In 2021 Dr. Wylegala passed the ophthalmology exam of the European board. Since 2011 he was an investigator in multiple clinical trials from the I to the IV phase.  He was the recipient of a generous scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation and was a research fellow at Schepens Eye Research Institute of Harvard Medical School. He was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.  Dr. Wylegala was an observer in many hospitals; in Germany, Italy, and Finland. His main research field is ophthalmic imaging of both the anterior and posterior segments. Currently he serves as a head of the experimental ophthalmology unit at Silesian Medical University He is a co-author of several books, multiple articles, and one patent.  He likes hiking, ski touring, swimming, and geopolitics.
