Anat Galor, MD, MSPH, is a Professor of Ophthalmology and clinician–scientist at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute University, Miami Miller School of Medicine and Miami VA Healthcare System. Her clinical practice and research focus on chronic ocular surface pain, dry eye disease, and meibomian gland dysfunction, with an emphasis on distinguishing neuropathic/nociplastic from nociceptive mechanisms. She leads multidisciplinary studies that integrate tear biomarkers, corneal nerve imaging, quantitative sensory testing, and patient-reported outcomes, and she collaborates on large-scale genomic projects, including work with the Million Veteran Program. Dr. Galor has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, lectures internationally, and mentors trainees across ophthalmology, optometry, and engineering. Her overarching goal is to translate mechanistic insights into precision diagnostics and targeted therapies that improve quality of life for patients with ocular surface disease and pain. Beyond the clinic, she builds collaborative networks that bridge ophthalmology, neurology, immunology, and data science.
